Day-by-Day Itinerary
Upon arrival at Jammu Railway Station or Airport, meet our representative and begin your journey towards Katra, the base town of Mata Vaishno Devi and an important halt for Amarnath pilgrims. The drive passes through scenic mountain roads and local towns of Jammu region.
After reaching Katra, check into the hotel and relax after the journey. The evening is free for leisure, local shopping, or temple visits. Pilgrims can spend time preparing for the upcoming high-altitude yatra. Dinner and overnight stay at Katra.
After an early breakfast, begin the long yet scenic drive towards Baltal, one of the main base camps for Amarnath Yatra. The route offers mesmerizing views of mountains, valleys, waterfalls, rivers, and pine forests.
Enjoy the changing landscapes as the journey gradually enters the Kashmir Himalayan region. Several short halts will be provided en route for refreshments and relaxation. On arrival at Baltal, check into the camp or hotel and rest properly before the darshan day. Due to high altitude conditions, pilgrims are advised to avoid heavy physical activity and stay hydrated. Dinner and overnight stay at Baltal.
Early morning before sunrise, proceed for the sacred pilgrimage to the holy cave shrine of Baba Barfani. The trek from Baltal to Amarnath Cave is approximately 14 km one way and can be completed by trekking or by optional pony, palki, or helicopter services at additional cost.
The route passes through breathtaking snow-covered Himalayan landscapes, glaciers, mountain cliffs, and spiritual chanting by fellow devotees. After reaching the holy cave, have darshan of the naturally formed ice Shivling of Lord Shiva, one of the most sacred pilgrimage sites in India.
Spend some peaceful spiritual moments near the cave shrine before beginning the return journey to Baltal. After reaching Baltal by evening, relax and enjoy dinner at the camp/hotel. Overnight stay at Baltal.
After breakfast, check out from Baltal and begin the return journey to Katra. The drive once again offers beautiful Himalayan scenery, riverside views, and mountain landscapes. En route, enjoy several refreshment breaks and capture memorable photographs of the majestic surroundings.
